This August eclipse season is part of the Saros Cycle 10 South. Bernadette Brady notes that we shift from a hopeless space to a more positive one. The solutions we are seeking will become clear. You can look back to 2008, 1990, 1972, and 1954 for other eclipse seasons in this Saros Cycle.

This is the first Leo eclipse since the nodes of fate have moved into the Leo/Aquarius axis. We will have another Leo solar eclipse next August. The nodes will spend about 18 months in each sign. This means people will face endings and new beginnings in the Leo and Aquarius areas of their charts. This will last until 2028.

A solar eclipse is a supercharged new moon on steroids. I love my lunar rituals, like charging crystals, setting intentions, and lighting candles. But during eclipse season, I recommend stepping back from the usual new and full moon activities. Let the cosmos sort this out, and we can come back to regularly scheduled programming next month.

So, what does it mean on a practical level? Will all hell break loose?

I think it is safe to say that an eclipse can be met with a blend of anxious anticipation, excitement, and fear. What takes the lead is really up to you. There is a loss of control over what this energy will bring in for any one of us. I don’t wish to instill fear or anxiety in anyone, but the element of the unknown will often bring some sense of uneasiness. That is natural.

When the nodes are involved, we are dealing with karma and fate. Our destiny as defined by the cosmos, not by us. I do believe that the further away we are from our divine path, the more rearranging needs to be done, and the more uncomfortable it can be. But I also believe that a seemingly aligned individual can experience events that will deeply impact them, regardless of where they are on their path. This is life on earth as a human, and life happens to humans on earth. Old things end. New things begin. Nothing begins without some sort of ending. And nothing ends without a new beginning. I see eclipses as where the head meets the tail on the ouroboros.

Eclipse Effects

When it comes to the effects of an eclipse, it is not entirely uncommon to feel nothing at all. Astrology is often best understood in hindsight. Not every eclipse impacts every person on a personal level. We will see the effects on a collective level, and generally we can look to the sign it is in to understand the flavor. This eclipse will be in the sign of Leo, a fixed fire sign. Eclipse energy can last over 6 months. However, a Leo eclipse brings quick events due to its fire element. These events will also have lasting impacts because of its fixed mode.

This is a solar eclipse, and the Sun is in its domicile in the sign of Leo; you can expect an element of fun with a dash of drama. Leos are quite theatrical, and if an eclipse is anything, it is a spotlight! Leo rules celebrities, royalty, government rulers, and leaders of all kinds. Look for news about these kinds of people to come up, especially when it comes to their downfall. Pluto in Aquarius is not going to be a wallflower here; rather, it is more likely that dirty deeds done in private become public. I said there would be drama.

On a more personal level:

This Leo eclipse is asking us to release the versions of ourselves that are no longer authentic, no longer aligned with our hearts. It will bring clarity around where we need to step up and take the lead in our lives. The Sun is in its domicile in Leo, so where Leo is in your chart is where you shine the brightest. Jupiter and Mercury are both in Leo at the time of this eclipse. Jupiter will magnify this energy and provide us with some wisdom in what needs to be done here. It will aid in our creative expansion, playfulness and inspire confidence in us. Mercury will aid in rewriting our personal leadership style and our identity.

To see how this affects your life, check the house Leo rules in your chart. Also, look at the house Aquarius rules since it influences the entire axis. Also, focus on the houses ruled by Taurus and Scorpio. They form a square aspect by sign, so expect some tension in these areas this season. Since the nodes just moved into the Leo/Aquarius axis, these will be the areas of life that will see the most change over the next 18 months. Think of it like an opportunity for growth.

August is going to feel more personal in that we have all the personal planets changing signs. Our luminaries give us consistency. The Sun changes signs every month, while the Moon does so every 2.5 days. This month, Mercury (communication and thinking), Venus (balance and harmony), and Mars (action) will all change signs. These planets are closer to Earth and have a more personal impact on our day-to-day lives. So, when they are moving and shaking, we feel it a little more.

Oh. And eclipse season. August is mostly eclipse season. It’s fine. No need to panic.

When you work with the lunar cycles on a regular basis, eclipse season is a good time to sit back and allow the Universe to sort some things out on your behalf. Let someone else move the furniture. This is karmic realignment time. Trying to set intentions during an eclipse cycle is like using a jackhammer to remove wallpaper. You’ll get the job done, and then some! Is that dramatic? Yes, absolutely. But you get the picture.

On August 7, Venus moves out of Virgo, where she was busy doing all the work last month, and back into her home sign of Libra. This is her domicile, and the Venusian energy will strengthen considerably. Venus goes retrograde this fall in Scorpio. It will move back into Libra. We won’t enter the shadow period until the end of the month at 22 degrees. We will see more ease in our relationships and a willingness to connect with others. A great month to work on artistic and creative projects.

On August 10, Mercury will FINALLY move out of Cancer for the first time since June! This was an extended stay thanks to the retrograde we had last month. I think everyone was happy when that ended. We will finally be able to emerge from the depths of this transit as Mercury moves into Leo, going full speed ahead. It won’t take long before it meets up with Jupiter around August 15. Expect some big-picture thinking here, brilliant insights, and optimistic viewpoints. This beautiful conjunction will make up for all the emotional turmoil that was stirred up over the last couple of months.

On August 11, Mars enters Cancer. It will gradually build up to a square with Saturn by the end of the month. Mars is debilitated in Cancer, meaning the qualities of this sign do not support the personality of this planet. Mars is fast, aggressive, and assertive. It is hot and fiery. Cancer is nurturing and intuitive, a sign that tends to get lost in the depths of feelings. Think of a marathon runner in waist-deep water. That is Mars in Cancer. We might notice a slowdown, but this is a chance to check in with ourselves. It’s a time to listen to our intuition and any gut feelings we have.

On August 12, we have a South Node Solar Eclipse in the sign of Leo. With Leo being a fixed fire sign, this eclipse is going to be powerful with lasting effects. The energy can be explosive, but let’s hope this is metaphorical explosions and not actual ones. All things considered… a girl can still hope, right? Leo eclipse events are usually sudden but can play out over a period of six months. Drink plenty of water; it’s been a hot summer already, so be sure to take care at this time. Leo rules the heart; pay special attention if you or any of your loved ones have heart conditions or high blood pressure. I’ll write more articles on the eclipses later this month. I’ll also share tips on how to work with these energies for paid subscribers.

On August 17, Mars makes a square to Neptune in Aries. Neptune has been a big player this year with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction and then most recently, its participation in the Barbault Basket, making a sextile to Pluto and a trine aspect with Uranus. On a personal level, this aspect could bring some friction and momentum to dreams and ideas that have been born under these influences. Or it could cause some confusion with your direction. Either way, it will bring a personal touch to one of those far-off planets, the one that is most difficult to put your finger on.

On August 18, Venus and Jupiter form a lovely sextile. This is their first big aspect since they joined in Cancer earlier this summer. We love it when these two planets are talking! I’d highly recommend getting out of the house on this day and being social. Everyone will be feeling flirty and sexy and probably looking their best. Meet, mingle, and be merry! A few days later, on August 21, Venus will oppose Saturn. This is not as sexy; it’s more like a head-to-head matchup between duty and desire. This will lighten the load of whatever Saturn is doing in your chart and at least spark a little joy in the long-term plans you are working on.

On August 22, Virgo season begins with the Sun’s ingress into this sign. That To-Do list waits on no one! Get your pens and pencils out; back-to-school season is in full swing and fall is around the corner. We love how persistent Virgo can be, but no time to rest; things need to be done! Mercury quickly follows behind and into this sign on August 26 with a Sun-Mercury Cazimi on August 27. Talk about clarity! Mercury is at home and exalted in the sign of Virgo. Sitting in the heart of the Sun in this sign will bring mental breakthroughs. You will find practical intelligence and the energy to do all the things! If you’ve had a cumbersome project you’ve been putting off, consider tackling it under this alignment.

On August 27, we have a North Node Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Pisces with the Sun in Virgo, so Virgo placements will be impacted by this. Pisces is a mutable water sign; it will impact on a soul level and may have you feeling extra emotional. This could affect sleep, the dream state, or make you feel extra sleepy or drowsy. The effects of this eclipse can be tricky to understand. You might feel confused or notice fluctuations throughout its duration. These effects could last for the next six months. This is a good time for deep introspection and spiritual practices, as the boundaries between worlds will be blurred. I’ll explore each eclipse in detail. For paid subscribers, I’ll share tips on working with eclipse season energies. Just because we are not setting intentions doesn’t mean we can’t go deep here!

To round out the month, we have a lovely Jupiter-Saturn trine from August 29 into the first part of September. Saturn’s long-term plans for you are getting a boost of optimism. They might even catch a lucky break! Take the time to focus on these long-term plans now. With Jupiter helping, it won’t feel so daunting. You’re likely to feel inspired again. This happens about a week after the Venus-Saturn opposition. So good progress can be made here this month on Saturn-related endeavors.

July 2026 has been a lot of things, subtle is not one of them. Before we end the month with a fully loaded full moon, a few notable astrological events occur. The nodes of fate change signs, Saturn stations retrograde and the sextile between Neptune and Pluto becomes exact. To say this month is for this history books is putting it lightly.

The full moon at the end of the month will be in the sign of Aquarius at 6 degrees, a 2 degree separation from the Moon/Pluto conjunction. A slight distance that takes the sting out, but still close enough to feel the intensity. That alone would make this full moon a powerful one, but have I mentioned the Jupiter cazimi?

Whenever a planet is at the same degree as the Sun (or within 17 minutes, according to traditional astrologers) it is said to be in the heart of the Sun. Basically, God’s favorite child. This is a very favorable place to be. Jupiter is the greater benefic, a planet bringing ease, blessings, good fortune and positivity. Everything Jupiter touches expands. We love this guy!

On every full moon, the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac with the Sun fully illuminating the Moon. The addition of Pluto next to the Moon and Jupiter in the heart of the Sun, makes the themes of this full Moon larger and more intense than they’d otherwise be. But why stop there? Let’s add to this party and bring in Neptune and Uranus. Both are still at 4 degrees of their respective signs and communicating with the Moon/Pluto and Sun/Jupiter placements.

Yes! I’m talking about the Barbault Basket. A configuration in the sky never seen before in recorded history, where Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and Jupiter all meet at 4 degrees of air and fire signs in harmonious aspects. It has been said that this configuration is a rebirth of humanity. These influences are still strong and will be playing a role in this full moon.

ME vs WE

Now that we have the lay of the land, let’s get into the themes of an Aquarius Full Moon.

We are dealing with the Leo/Aquarius axis, the individual vs the collective. Whereas a Leo identifies themselves by their own magnificence, an Aquarius defines themselves as part of the whole of society. Aquarius is fixed air, so they are stubborn and sure of themselves but also intellectual and thoughtful. It is the sign of the humanitarian, with strong social ideals. It is freedom oriented, innovative and can be quite radical.

While the Sun does extremely well in its home sign of Leo, the Moon does not behave as well in Aquarius, as it is far too dry and intellectual for the emotional nature of the moon. Being ruled by Saturn, there is an element of practicality and structure here, where the moon speaks in feelings and intuition. Themes of individual creativity and how we fit in with the group dynamic are going to arise in all of us. Can you truly be yourself, in your own authentic magnificence while being part of the whole collective? Do you dim your light to match the vibe of the crew? Relationships, friendships, associations and groups of people that we may or may not belong to are going to be illuminated for us to look at and determine if we need to make a change.

On a larger scale, we now live in a world where we are becoming more and more connected to the whole of humanity through technology. Conversations will continue regarding how we manage to share the same land, air and water sources with the demands of this technological revolution. The few are expecting us to do so. But do we, the greater collective, get a say in this? Or can we create a better solution that benefits us as humans, the natural resources we rely upon to survive, and the technology we are becoming increasingly dependent on?

With the inclusion of the outer, generational planets at play during this lunation, it is hard to ignore the unresolved issues our society is facing. Not to mention the lunar nodes have just moved into this Leo/Aquarius axis, continuing to highlight these themes of ME vs WE for the next 18 months. Pluto, Neptune and Uranus are going to remain in a similar configuration for years to come. Every time a planet moves through Leo at similar degrees, this basket formation will reignite.

Although I have a tremendous amount of hope for what these planetary influences are going to do for us here on earth, I want to stress that this is not going to be an overnight success story. There is a great deal of change that needs to occur, but these planets are holding the space for this to happen.

I don’t want to be all doom and gloom – I hate when astrologers get that way!

All in all, this is actually a very auspicious full moon. One I would highly encourage you to work with. Jupiter is only in the heart of the Sun once a year (roughly) and this is going to be it! Let’s harness all the fortunate blessings being offered here in co-creation with the Universe.

Next month we enter eclipse season, and that is when we will want to back off and let the Universe do what it pleases and rearrange life as it sees fit. Of course I’ll provide you with some ideas, activities and meditations to support you along your journey. Eclipse season is a powerful time, and there is work that can be done here. But trying to use this energy to manifest or co-create with the Universe is like trying to remove wallpaper with a jackhammer. You’ll get the job done, but you might need to call a general contractor in the end.

Tarot/Oracle Card Spread for Full Moon in Aquarius

Ritual Ideas:

1. Sweep and mop the floors with the intention of removing/releasing all that no longer serves you. Lemon, eucalyptus, cedarwood and rosemary are good essential oils to add to the mop water to reset the energy. When done intentionally, you are signaling to the Universe that you are making room in your life for new blessings to come in.

2. Light a candle and make two lists:

Find a quiet spot where you can be undisturbed and get out a journal. Light a candle and play 417 Hz frequency music to facilitate change and eliminate negative energy.

First - a list of thoughts, feelings, identities, relationships you are ready to let go of and release

Second - a list of things you can do to embrace and honor your authentic self

^{Examples: wear the colorful scarf you love but never wear because its too colorful; sign up for a pottery class to indulge your creativity; volunteer at a local organization you believe in to give back to the community; say NO to something that is not a 100% HELL YES!}

3. Set out your crystals and tarot/oracle decks to charge under the full moon

4. Buy a bouquet of flowers to honor the Moon and welcome the fullness of her expression at this time. Consider it an offering of gratitude for the guidance and consistency provided to us by her cycles.

1. Where do you feel that your individual needs are at odds with a group (family, extended family, friend/social group, work colleagues)?

3. Where do you play small in an effort to keep the peace or maintain balance?

Just days before a celestial alignment that has never been seen before in recorded history, we are having a lunation, setting us up for a shift that could alter the course of the world with a collective rebirth.

The new Moon in Cancer happens in the early morning hours of July 14th, here in the US. The Moon is in its domicile in the sign of Cancer, so it is right at home. New Moons happen when the Sun and Moon are at the same degree in the same sign. The night sky is dark, lacking light from our lunar goddess. It’s the time when we work in the dark, plant our seeds of desire in the fertile soil for them to grow as the Moon grows in light.

The sign of Cancer is a cardinal water sign, associated with deep-feeling emotions, home and family, our lineage and ancestors. It is the sign that is as nurturing as it is protective. Overbearing, at times smothering, due to an innate need to care for others. Don’t try to sneak away. A Cancer person is very intuitive. They often know your plans before you do. Just give in; their home is a safe space, cozy with creature comforts and cakes. Yes, they will feed you senselessly and ask if you have room for ice cream.

This new Moon has a retrograde Mercury right next to it. Having been in the sign of Cancer since the beginning of June, we should all be adept at understanding our feelings by now. Of course, the trip down memory lane may have us feeling a little wistful or raw. Images of the past flash in our minds eye, reminiscing about former lovers and old quarrels. Remembering the smells of childhood and wondering how we got here.

I wouldn’t describe this lunation as action-packed, even though the entire month of July is pretty active. This moon feels quiet, internal, and reflective. A nice soft spot in the middle of the month, before the world is to be reborn with a spectacular lineup of outer planets configuring themselves into the shape of a basket, holding all the potential we can dream of imagining.

A pregnant pause. A space to create. That is this new moon.

Being right on the precipice of the Barbault Basket, I feel it is asking us to emotionally prepare ourselves for the kind of change we’ve only wished for. What internal rearranging needs to occur for you to be prepared for your dreams to become reality? If your soul could thrive in a world that supports it, what would that look like? What would you do and who would you be? Entertain thoughts on how it would feel to write the book, direct the play, paint the flowers, photograph the sunset, climb the mountain, marry the lover, quit the job…dream of a life in which survival is no longer the priority because it’s already guaranteed. What would that look like for you? Can you soften your heart to make room for these possibilities?

When setting intentions for this new Moon, I’d shy away from specifics. Your words are not going to find ground here; rather, they will need space to shift and move before finally settling in. Think in terms of concepts and compassion, healing and renewal. Internally reflective of where we are and how we can care for ourselves and those closest to us, to prepare for a future that has not yet been defined. This would be a good time to start to rewrite the narrative from a more healed perspective, one where you have grown and learned lessons along the way. The story that started years ago has changed, but have you changed the way you speak of it? The characters have matured; it’s time for the dialogue to as well.

If all of this seems to be a bit much, you can always honor the Cancer Moon by crawling back into your shell. Grab a bowl of ice cream, sit back and relax. The Universe will do the heavy lifting the rest of this month.

July starts off strong! After the Full Moon in Capricorn, Mercury went retrograde. Mars moved into Gemini, and Jupiter entered Leo in the last days of June. There is anticipation in the air; we can feel things are changing, but we don’t quite know what to make of it just yet. At the start of the month, Mars will quickly align with Uranus. We’ll see fireworks, both literally and figuratively. The planet of war and the planet of unexpected surprises come together on July 4, 2026, for America’s 250th anniversary. Keep your head on a swivel; energy will be heightened and anything is possible when these two planets collide. This is not an unusual conjunction, but it is always interesting when they do this dance in the sign of Gemini. When they signed the Declaration of Independence, Mars and Uranus were in Gemini. This marked an energetic signature in our nation’s birth chart. Yes, even countries have birth charts, and America’s desire for radical freedom and a penchant for war may very well be attributed to this dynamic. Happy Birthday!!!

On July 9th we will see Venus move into the sign of Virgo, and sister has work to do! Immediately joining the South Node at 0 degrees of Virgo and helping us shake off the last bits of karmic debris we’ve been working on releasing while the Nodes are in this Virgo/Pisces axis. Say goodbye to toxic relationships and money woes because we don’t need that here! Shortly after, Venus moves on to square up with Uranus where things might get weird in the romance department. Pluto and Neptune are both in her blind spot, creating more friction or perhaps an awakening of sorts. Pay attention to what she is showing you here. This will be around the New Moon, so if what comes up around the 14th is unclear, it should be fully illuminated by the end of the month. There will be one last axe to grind when she squares Mars on July 27th right before the Full Moon on the 29th.

Some people spend the summer in Europe; Mercury, however, is spending the summer in Cancer. This long, wet trip started on June 2. It goes retrograde on June 29, then stations direct on July 23. It stays in this sign for all of July and part of August. I refuse to fearmonger Mercury retrograde (find another astrologer for that!) Why would I? By mid-August we will all be stuck with an emotional hangover when our thoughts finally get out of our feelings and dry off. Our intuition is strong here, but if you’re not used to this and prefer to bask in linear, rational, analytical thought processes, you’re going to have to wait. This will not be the time. This retrograde will bring back memories of home and family. Nostalgic feelings will take over our minds. Our emotions will shape our words before we speak. Go easy on yourself and those around you. We will all be swimming in it.

Speaking of emotions… how about those lunations?

The New Moon in Cancer will take place in the early morning hours of July 14, conjunct a retrograde Mercury. The sign of Cancer is ruled by the Moon; this lunation will be right at home. Cancer is a cardinal water sign that is deeply protective, intuitive, and emotional. It is associated with all things home and family, how we nurture ourselves and those closest to us. This doesn’t feel like a loud New Moon; it is quiet and introspective. With Mercury right next to the Sun and Moon, it is going to have us considering our emotional landscape, which might feel a bit raw. Grab a blanket and a bowl of ice cream (maybe some tissues). Then, put on your favorite ‘90s movie and enjoy a trip down memory lane. Look for an article on this New Moon to come out around July 10th.

Let’s get to the good stuff! The amazing sky event features Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto meeting at 4 degrees in air and fire signs. This creates a series of trines and sextiles in Leo, Gemini, Aries, and Aquarius. This pattern looks like a bowl and is being called the Barbault Basket, named after the famous French astrologer André Barbault. It is said that a new world will emerge from this configuration, one that will improve the standard of living across the globe, marking a profound turning point for humanity.

I am an eternal optimist and believe strongly in the ability humans have to consciously co-create reality with the Universe, so my suggestion is for us to take this lovely bit of hope and run with it! Keep in mind we are talking about slow-moving planets here, so I would not characterize this as an overnight sensation. It is my sincere hope that we begin to heal and build a world that supports all of humanity while also tending to our Mother Earth, giving thanks to the beautiful, abundant planet we have been able to call home.

The Barbault Basket will be exact on the 18th/19th of July; Jupiter will move deeper into the sign of Leo, but the Sun will quickly catch up and take its place on July 27, completing the basket again and further solidifying this energetic signature. The second half of July will be all Barbault Basket – and I am here for it!

This is about when the Nodes move from the Virgo/Pisces axis to the Leo/Aquarius axis. This change starts a new 18-month cycle and shifts our focus. Look for an article later in July on this topic and what it means for you. This will place us into eclipse season in August. Hello, shadow work, my old friend. As a child born in the space between a solar and lunar eclipse, this is my jam! Definitely look for articles on eclipse season next month.

On July 29, we have a full Moon in Aquarius, bringing more attention to the collective consciousness. This will be a fully loaded full Moon. With the Sun conjunct Jupiter and the Moon conjunct Pluto, the two powerhouse planets will illuminate the dynamic between ME vs WE. The individual vs the collective. It will be really interesting to see what the end of July looks like after having this extraordinary basket configuration sitting in the sky, the nodes changing, and then going into a Full Moon, forcing us to face this compelling juxtaposition. I will have a Full Moon article coming out around July 25th.

This is where I am in my life right now. I’m glad to be past the Pluto square. The Uranus opposition is still fresh, and the Saturn opposition is brewing. I’m in the thick of it but I’m coming out of the proverbial closet as the fully loaded Woo-Woo Witch Goddess that I am. There. I said it.

Calling all closeted Woo-Woo Witch Goddesses! The world needs us right now!

When it comes to astrology, I got the bug in my early 20s. I was searching for meaning, perhaps for the first time but definitely not the last. I wasn’t ready for astrology then.

Astrology requires commitment, consistency, and follow-through. It requires you to trust yourself and see yourself. I was not capable of all that at such a young age. But also, the more years you’ve had on this earth, the more equipped you are to understand the movement of the planets in a way that doesn’t quite resonate before your first Saturn return.

I started my first astrology class so long ago that I had to fill out a sheet of paper and mail it in with a personal check. It’s not that the internet didn’t exist back then (it did!!), but people hadn’t switched to doing everything electronically yet. I took classes on houses, signs and planets. I learned about aspects. When I had to calculate a chart by hand, I was in over my head. Not because I couldn’t do it, but because I lacked trust in myself. The confidence in my ability to do hard things was nowhere to be found.

I took other classes during this time. I learned numerology, reiki, crystal healing, and psychic development. I grabbed whatever I could find! If someone was teaching it at the local metaphysical store, I was signing up! I saw readers and healers, knowing that I was one of them, but also never fully owning my own gifts. I never felt like I was as good as they were. Maybe they were just more experienced and more knowledgeable. Maybe they had more confidence. I wonder now if they ever had impostor syndrome. That phrase wasn’t in the lexicon at that time. Not that the feeling didn’t exist – we just didn’t have the words to describe it.

In my mid-20s, I moved to Utah and found new teachers and new forms of study and spirituality. In the buildup to 2012, everyone was trying to become awakened. Dear God in heaven, don’t ever tell anyone you’re awakened because that is a clear sign that you’re NOT awakened and the absolute persecution you would receive from “highly spiritual” people was enough to make you never speak your truth out loud again. Toxic spirituality is real and those love and light folks are the best at it (at least in my experience). It made me jaded. It made me cynical. It made me question if any of it was real. What have I been searching for? Has it all been a glorious game of avoidance?

After a night in a crowded conference room, with tribal music shaking my bones, I reached my limit. We were guided through breath of fire, raising energy so high that people were wailing and thrashing about. I decided I’d had enough, and I walked away.

I’d occasionally read my Susan Miller monthly horoscope and once in a while I would meditate. But I wasn’t taking the time to learn anything or practice my skills. Aside from my job, I wasn’t doing much with my life; nothing lit me up anymore. I felt uninspired, and well, let’s face it. I was depressed.

After a few years of this darkness, I found things to lift my mood. I’d go for long walks and started going to Pilates. I focused on my health and healing in a different way. I began working with the moon cycles for the first time. I’d set intentions to develop good habits on the new moon and I’d draw a grid and track my progress. Life sometimes threw challenges my way, and darkness would creep back in. Still, a new moon was always coming, offering a chance to reset and refocus. This saved me.

When Uranus moved into the sign of Taurus and hit my 10th House, all hell broke loose. I won’t get into the sordid details, but I had to recreate myself, and the only way I knew how to do that was to rely on my woo-woo ways. I had to abandon the cynical, jaded bullshit story I’d been telling myself because it wasn’t going to serve me now.

I bought a new journal, a pack of pens, and got to work.

I found myself unemployed with a 6-month emergency fund that was more like 6 weeks. Time was not on my side. I’d get up every morning, go for a walk and imagine the life I wanted to live, doing the work I wanted to do, getting paid the money I needed to make. I’d get home and spend 4-5 hours journaling. I would meditate and listen to every manifestation guru I could find. I was reading the Abraham Hicks books I bought years before and never actually opened. I was discovering my self-limiting beliefs and transforming them. I was taking those moon cycles seriously!

I was doing the damn work!

Things started to come together. Day by day, week by week, I gained side gigs and new clients. Before I knew it, work was flowing in. Money started coming in.

I can’t recall how long it took, but a year later, I moved. I left my small, one-bedroom apartment for a nice, new place. It was twice the size and double the rent! This was the summer of 2019, and I was feeling good about life.

I had no idea that Pluto was lurking around the corner. I had no concept of what life in a pandemic would be like. And I lacked a total understanding that the immense healing I’d been doing came with goodbyes.

This is when I began to have a new understanding of astrology. Hearing about the dance between Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto while witnessing life unfold on Earth as it did in 2020 fascinated me to no end. But I was still too overwhelmed with life to really commit to astrology.

I would listen to podcasts and read my Susan Miller horoscope every month with more attention, printing it out and taking a highlighter to the good bits. I played with my tarot cards daily. I journaled as if my life depended on it. I also began to explore magic, casting spells from books and shaping my reality.

At this point, I was already a manifestation queen, but adding magic to the mix took it to a whole new level! And it was AWESOME! I was having fun learning and experimenting.

But it was a night in early November 2024 when my commitment to astrology grabbed ahold of me. The shock of what had happened took a while to settle in. For me, it was like whiplash. I was not prepared. In my head, him becoming president again was not a possibility. I never even entertained the idea in my mind, so the disbelief, the grief…I still don’t have words for it.

I recalled my time during his first term in office and how it affected my mental health. How I would watch cable news like it was my job. Listen to podcast after podcast, every twist and turn of the clown show, the utter onslaught of rage-inducing news stories only to be hit over and over, again and again, with one catastrophe after another. The anger, the chaos, the stress, the sadness. It was too much then and way too much to do again.

I decided I needed to do something with myself. I wouldn’t allow the best of me to be consumed by this. I decided to do something better, to be something better. (*I understand this is a privilege that was not afforded to everyone*)

That November, I realized how much our world needed more healers, lovers, artists, creatives, and visionaries. I knew that we needed people to hold space for what is on the other side of this. And I still believe this to be true with every fiber of my being.

Nothing lasts forever, and we don’t know what is around the corner, but the more people we have consumed by the chaos, the less hope is available for the future. And I refused to be consumed. Instead, I decided to hold space. For myself and for the future.

That is where I found my commitment. Astrology brings me solace in an uneasy world. To know astrology is to know there is a cosmic dance happening overhead, with an intelligence far greater than we can understand. A divine orchestration, building and releasing tension, effortlessly unfolding in a manner too perfect for us to create on our own.

The world we live in today is far too tragic for it to be meaningless. Astrology provides me that meaning. It’s a framework for understanding the chaos and collapse that we are witnessing. It’s where faith and hope become glimmers of possibility. So here I am, 20-some-odd years later, searching for meaning in life again. Through astrology.

Join me in this mid-life adventure. Let’s explore meaning, healing, and understanding together. Life is far more interesting when we co-create with the heavens, allowing the natural rhythms of the universe to guide us and lead the way through this crazy, calamitous time and I am happy to be your guide. When it gets bad, I’ll remind you (and myself) that we decided to be here now.

So, let’s do what we came here for and be our natural and authentic selves. Let’s heal and hold space for the future and fill it with the glimmers of hope I know still exist in this world.
